Micron Filtration Matters

Why does micron size matter in a water filter?

A micron is a unit of measurement commonly used in technological and scientific fields.

1 micron equals to 1 millionth of a meter or 1 thousandth of a millimeter!

0.1 micron equals to ten-thousandth of a millimeter—this is how small the microscopic pores on IVO’s hollow fiber membrane are. Thus, ensuring that microscopic impurities as little as 0.1 micron are filtered out! Not just turbidity, sediments and chlorine—the most that other water filters are capable of removing.

What IVO Filters Out

IVO's advanced hollow fiber membrane technology, manufactured by Toray Industries, has passed NSF/ANSI/CAN 42 standards and is fully NSF-certified. Filters have been tested according to Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) S3201.

PRE-SCREEN:
Removes rust, sediments and bigger particles.

SECOND SCREEN:
Ensures that impurities that managed to pass-through the pre-screen are further removed.

GRANULAR ACTIVATED CARBON (GAC):
Absorbs unpleasant smells of water; removes the chlorine smell and residual chlorine, and other chemicals to make tasty water.

HOLLOW FIBER MEMBRANE FILTER:
Removes microscopic impurities as little as 0.1 micron—including microplastics and sub-microplastics—all while retaining calcium, magnesium and other minerals essential to the human body.
